As this is a new blog the first entry is a précis of the some of our holiday destinations and the food we like to seek out…

Florence – 2019

Italy, of course, is such a big place for food and we’ve enjoyed many trips there over the years. We probably eat more Italian food at home than all other cuisines as it completely suits my style of cooking and serving and lends itself to entertaining so well.

Eating out in Florence is a dream – so much to choose from…

Cape Verde – January 2019

The daily fish market is particularly vibrant and so affordable

Santa Maria on the island of Sal is just so photogenic – it’s a wonderful mix of Africa and Europe and wonderfully diverse – it’s such a shame is quite so far away..

The range of cafes and restaurants is quite vast for such a small town…

We absolutely lovely Spain and always go simple food when we dine out.

Sardines on the beach – so simple and that really sums up my favourite Spanish food – my first lunch will always consist of fresh tomato and garlic salad and deep fried aubergine with a glass of cava – that’s when I know I’m finally on holiday.

Lovely views from Frigiliana

I always cook on holiday as I love food shopping in another country…

Barcelona is also an exciting place to eat and Seville not far behind…

Barcelona – Staff lunch time

Famous market off the Rambles….you really can find anything edible – beautifully colourful and photogenic although there were several signs prohibiting photos – most churlish…and not very generous with samples quite unlike our own Barrow Market in London – it really is worth the trip just for the samples and extraordinary diversity.
